Cultivating means loosening the soil, removing weeds and making it ready for sowing - typically at a depth of around 5-15 cm. To work the soil optimally, the weather conditions should be as follows:
- Dry, but not parched soil
- Dry weather for the next 1-2 days
- Mild temperatures (approx. 10-25 °C)
- No frost or ground frost
Cultivation should take place in spring between the beginning of April and the end of May and in fall between mid-September and mid-October.
Cultivation should be done to loosen or break up the soil, which improves plant growth.
