Mowing

Mowering is a central cutting measure in professional green space maintenance, in agriculture and in horticulture. Regular mowing stimulates grass growth and ensures that the lawn is optimally compacted - the basis for hard-wearing, aesthetically pleasing green areas. Regular mowing is essential to avoid bare patches and damage to the turf, especially with frequent mowings with short cutting lengths.
In addition to this routine, long grass cutting is also used in livestock farming to produce fodder, thus enabling the sustainable management of meadows and pastures. This is where the particular strength of Cutter bar mowers comes into play: with their precise cutting quality and gentle operation, they deliver cuttings that are ideal for further processing into hay, silage or fresh fodder.

A major advantage of all Cutterbar systems is their increased safety compared to rotary mowing systems. While Centrifugal or rotary mowers can throw stones or small parts away due to rotating mowers and thus cause injuries or material damage, this is impossible with Cutterbars. The oscillating movement of the bar mower completely prevents foreign objects from being thrown away, meaning that large-scale barriers around the working area are not necessary. This makes Cutter bar mowers ideal for working close to people, animals or busy roads.
All variants of the agria cutterbars combine robust construction, low-maintenance components and high environmental friendliness. Whether universal cutter bars for semi-professional users, municipal cutter bars for daily intensive applications, finger cutter bars for forage harvesting, double-blade cutter bars for maximum performance or the portal mower for large-area inserts - the wide agria range guarantees that the optimum solution is available for every task.

Double knife cutter bar

The double-blade cutter bar represents the cutting edge of Cutter bar mower technology. With working widths of over 125 cm to 210 cm and modern double blade technology (upper and lower blade system), this type of cutter bar delivers maximum cutting performance and reliability under extreme conditions and is particularly low-vibration and therefore gentle on the body. The counter-rotating blade movements of the double blade system drastically reduce vibrations and make it possible to work without blockages even in denser or wetter grass growth. The blades, which are sharpened on both sides, can be changed several times before a complete replacement is necessary, which reduces the total cost of ownership.

The advantages at a glance:

  • High-performance green space maintenance in municipalities and for large landscaping companies
  • Intensive fodder production in livestock farming with high area volumes
  • Constant use on demanding areas (slopes, uneven terrain) where maximum reliability is required

Portal mower

The portal mower is a modern advancement of Cutter bar mower technology and is specially designed for use on Implement carriers. With its portal design and generous working widths, the portal mower offers optimum conditions for professional green space maintenance over large areas and is characterized by pleasant handling and low vibration. The portal mower combines the advantages of double-blade technology with a stable frame construction that works reliably even under extreme conditions. The extendable Skids enable precise cutting height settings regardless of the ground profile.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Large-scale municipal green space maintenance applications
  • Intensive forage harvesting with large-area machines
  • Problematic terrain conditions where maximum reliability is required

Finger cutter bar

The classic finger cutter bar with its characteristic finger positions is one of the more sensitive cutter bar variants, but is still highly valued for special applications - especially when the highest cutting quality is required for forage production in agriculture. The finger cutterbar is characterized by an extremely clean, smooth cut, ideal for high-quality crop and clean forage without crushing. The function is based on the fact that the finger spacing is selected according to the type of crop to be mowed - a flexibility that is not inherent in other cutterbar systems to the same extent. However, in thicker, damp or sticky grass, the finger mower bar clogs up more quickly than more modern systems.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Forage production with the highest quality standards (premium hay, silage for high-performance cattle)
  • Special grassland maintenance applications with selected plant species
  • Flowering meadows and special ecological areas where gentle cutting quality is particularly important

Universal cutter bar

The universal cutter bar embodies the classic and proven concept of bar mower technology and is the optimal choice for semi-professional use and for users who value ease of maintenance. Equipped with a universal cutter bar, machines such as the agria 5300 are ideal for versatile green space maintenance in difficult terrain - whether in narrow tree stands, on slopes, in natural gardens or along the banks of ponds. The Upper knife of the universal cutter bar is moved by the central Cutter Drive and works against fixed Counter knives (blades). This proven design produces a clean, precise cut that optimally supports the regrowth behavior of the plants. A major practical advantage is the ease of maintenance: Blades are easy to replace and the design is significantly less prone to clogging than older finger mower bar systems

The advantages at a glance:

  • In forage production, the universal cutter bar provides the best conditions for subsequent hay processing with its evenly cut material - the grass can be tedded, turned and swathed optimally.
  • In flowering meadows and nature reserves, the precise cutting quality ensures the desired wildlife-friendliness and promotion of biodiversity.

Municipal cutter bar

The municipal cutter bar is the tool for professional landscape maintenance with high area outputs. The double-blade cutting mechanism with driven upper and lower knives is largely insensitive to foreign objects. The counter-rotating blade movements cancel out vibrations, resulting in smoother running and reduced operator fatigue. With mowing speeds of up to 10 km/h and a spring-supported design, the municipal cutter bar enables optimum cutting results even on uneven terrain. Constant contact pressure stabilizes the guide block and increases durability. Ideal for intensive, daily use in municipalities and landscaping companies.

The advantages at a glance:

  • Double-blade cutting mechanism with upper and lower knives for robust, impact-resistant operation
  • Counter-rotating blade movements reduce vibrations, fatigue and the risk of blade breakage
  • Mowing speeds of up to 10 km/h with low-maintenance, durable construction for continuous professional use

Bush and grassland mower

While traditional Cutter bar mowers are ideal for precise cutting results in regular green space maintenance, the scrub mower is the perfect alternative when it comes to cutting thin, non-woody undergrowth as well as grass and similar plants. With its innovative rotary disc mower with four swivel-mounted Mowing knives, the Bush and grassland mower offers a completely different approach to cutting tall grass.
The heart of the Bush and grassland mower is the rotary disc with four steel blades, sharpened on both sides, which perform a rotating cutting movement. In contrast to the oscillating movements of a Cutter bar mower, this creates a round, spinning cutting movement that is particularly suitable for loose, tall grass and shrubs. The fixed Skid blocks of the rotary disc glide over the ground and ensure a uniform cutting depth regardless of uneven ground.

The length of the grass is always a guide when mulching the lawn. As soon as the blades of grass have reached a length of 7 to 8 cm after winter dormancy, you can mow or mulch for the first time.

The agria 3600 BM is a Two-wheel tractor or single-axle machine designed for versatile applications in horticulture and landscape maintenance. In addition to the Cutter bar mower, Sweepers, sickle mowers or snow blades can also be mounted, for example. Unlike the agria 3600, the agria 3600 BM cannot be used for soil cultivation.

The main difference between mowing and mulching lies in how the clippings are handled. When mowing, the grass is cut with a Lawn mower and the clippings are collected in a grass catcher or raked away and disposed of. Mulching, on the other hand, involves finely chopping the clippings with a mulching mower and spreading them on the lawn. There it rots and serves as a natural fertilizer and protects the soil from drying out.
